about Sitara’s Life Place

We are a non-profit animal welfare organization working to create a safe and healthy world for every animal and the people who love them.

In the middle of Wörgl we have a little island of life and have made it We have made it our mission to rescue animals from poor husbandry, neglect, danger of slaughter or other emergencies. The daily basic care of our animals with accommodation and food is just as important to us on our farm as the mental and emotional needs of each individual animal.

We provide our fosterlings with veterinary and medical care, treat behavioral disorders and, if possible, place them in a new, gentle home. Some animals must and may stay on our farm forever, as they are considered unplaceable.

Our main concern is to offer every animal a species-appropriate and caring living space. Our knowledge is not limited to domesticated animals, but we are also active in the field of wild animal care. Everything we do reinforces the philosophy that animals, like humans, are sensitive individuals with a right to protection who should live in dignity and safety.

Our team is made up of a variety of people who all share a love of animals. Everyone contributes in their own way, as far as possible. Many animals mean a lot of care, but also a lot of attention. Specific knowledge about animal care is therefore always welcome; but even if you simply love animals and would like to help, there are always opportunities to support our association and our good cause. Get to know our team below, sign up and make a difference.

Astrid aka Sitara
Astrid aka SitaraChairwoman/ Founder
My name is Astrid Meischberger (or Sitara), I’m originally from Schwaz, but I’m a Wörgl resident by choice. I am a mother, activist, lecturer and artist, so naturally I am interested in art in all its forms, psychology, philosophy and I also enjoy reading.

As the founder of the animal welfare association “Sitara’s Life Place”, I am active there as chairwoman with all the associated duties.
In addition to the vital daily care, I see my main task in the therapy of traumatized animals that come to us

My name is Tiebo Jacobs. Coming from the Netherlands, my passion for Japanese koi brought me into contact with Astrid years ago. Through her I also got to know the Lebenshof, whereupon my love for animal welfare in Tyrol continued to grow. In addition to my work as a military policeman and creative entrepreneur, I like to roll up my sleeves and do my bit for the welfare of these animals, which I have grown increasingly fond of. It is a fulfilling task that gives me a lot of energy together with a great group of like-minded people. From time to time I support SLP with graphic design and media productions.

I have known Astrid (Sitara) for many years now and admire her for creating this wonderful place with great passion and infinite love for both people and animals. In the middle of the city, where hectic and stress normally prevail, the Lebenshof is unique in its tranquillity, charm and authenticity!
It is important to me that we humans do not see the planet Earth and all living creatures that dwell on it as a kind of “self-service store for Homo Sapiens”, but that we treat our environment peacefully and uneconomically in symbiosis, or at least try to minimize this aspect as much as possible.

My name is Tini, I come from Jenbach and Astrid is one of my closest friends.
As I love animals more than anything and the welfare of all living creatures is very important to me, it was clear to me that I wanted to volunteer at “Sitara’s Life Place”.

I see it as my job to help wherever an extra hand is needed. My favorite animal is a striped dwarf chicken called “Copper” which looks exactly the same from the front as it does from behind.

Flo
FloDeputy Secretary
My name is Florian, I am 34 years old and come from Wörgl. I am a founding and board member of Sitara’s Love Place with the role of Deputy Secretary. I would like to see a fairer world in which humans and animals can live together in dignity, which is why I am actively committed to this through my work in the association. I also love animals and enjoy spending time with them. My favorite animal here at the Love Place is the dog Lafina.

We are Sam, Nina & Geo. We have known Astrid for many years and support Sitara’s Love Place. Justice for animals is very important to us and we are happy to be actively involved in improving the world for animals step by step! Our favorite animals are Muffin, Tahuna and Lafina. We moved to Scotland in 2018 and are helping Astrid from there. We often come to visit and do multimedia and internet here!
